FLA203a_0544bBest Pairing: Barry & Iris

“WestAllen” wins again no matter what Earth you might be on! This pairing had 68% of the total vote, improving even on last year’s numbers.

As the Best Pairing thing isn’t necessarily a romantic thing, it can also be a “how characters interact” sort of deal, it’s fun that Cisco & Harry came in at #2 for this category, garnering 9% of the vote.

Barry & Patty came in at #3, proving there are fans out there… they just didn’t vote for Least Favorite Character, apparently.

Last year’s winner: Barry & Iris

Our thanks to everyone who participated this year! Don’t miss the season 3 premiere Tuesday night on The CW! Preview images, trailers, clips and more can be found here at FlashTVNews.

I must be the only person who thinks “the Runaway Dinosaur” is completely overrated. Good episode, but overrated. It wasn’t his mother, so the emotion wasn’t earned. It felt like the writers were trying one too many times to cash in on a great moment and seemingly everyone in the audience not caring.

You think you’re the only person who found that episode overrated, and yet somehow you also know that everyone in the audience didn’t care? You realize those two statements are contradictory? It was one of the best rated episodes, and real mother or not, it helped bring an unresolved emotion of Barry’s that was just neglected for so much of the series. Personally there are still many people who cry everytime they see that episode, so please don’t speak for everyone.

Rob has a habit of doing that over at GreenArrowTV. It’s apparently a tradition now.

No, the statement isn’t contradictory because what I wrote was that I found it overrated because the audience didn’t care that it wasn’t his mother, hence why they got caught up in the emotion of the episode. I didn’t say the audience didn’t care about the episode, the audience didn’t care that the writers are hitting that note too many times. Looking back, I can see where you would interpret my statement that way, but I think it’s pretty clear from context, that’s not what I meant. And what emotion wasn’t resolved? Guilt over his mother’s death. If that’s the case, I think given what happened in the finale, it’s safe to say he has yet to resolve it.

        And really, Craig?

I didn’t speak for everyone. I just spoke for myself.

Awesome! This was fun. Loved Zack’s episode and all the Earth-2 ones especially Episode 13. I love Candice Patton and Grant Gustin they are amazing leads for the show!

Still not sure what anyone’s issue is with Patty. She was delightful. I do think it’s simply an issue of her not being Iris. This is nothing new, though. Audiences tend to hate romantic impediments. They were none too kind to Lauren Tom back in the 90s when she was on Friends simply for being the other woman. And there seemed to be a 180 on Iris from season 1 to season 2 at least in terms of online perception. Overall it was a good season, but not as fantastic as season 1 in large part because Zoom was far less interesting as a villain.

flashkingsharkposterWe’ve done it for Arrow and Supergirl already this summer… now, we’re doing something a little bit different in honoring Season 2 of The Flash.

The real reason: We fell behind. But also, we thought it might be confusing to have three polls running concurrently on three different websites. But now that those other two are done… let’s go on to honoring The Flash!

Last year, we had the first-ever FlashTVNews Awards honoring the best and worst of the show’s first season. Now, we’re back in voting for our favorites. The difference is… this time all of the voting will happen in the same week. If this style or format works better, we’ll try it for our other sites next year.

Be sure to use the navigation feature underneath the polls to go to the next categories to vote on, and try to vote in every category if you can. Voting will continue through Sunday, October 2; results will be posted just in time for the Season 3 premiere! Yeah, we’re really cutting it close.

Enjoy, and if you haven’t gotten the Flash Season 2 Blu-ray yet… what are you waiting for? Let’s get started by navigating below. Please note that votes are limited to 1 vote per IP address.

FLA111B_0491bThe best-laid plans…

Sadly, we’re not geniuses like Harrison Wells, and we can’t always plan a step ahead… as such, the first annual 2015 FlashTVNews Awards results, honoring the best (and not-so-best) of The Flash Season 1, see their results being posted the day before the start of Season 2. Oops!

Unfortunately, our bad planning also meant we didn’t get in every category we wanted to this year. But next year… LOOK OUT!

You can navigate between pages at the bottom of every winner article. Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Awards, and I hope you like the results!

2015 FlashTVNews Awards: Pick The Best Pairing Of The Flash Season 1!

Fans are invited to pick their favorite pairing from The Flash Season 1.

FLA102a_205bBecause we ran so long with some categories in our first annual FlashTVNews Awards, honoring the best and worst of The Flash Season 1, we’re skipping ahead a few categories so that we can get the results up before the new season begins.

The last pairing in this year’s Awards is Best Pairing. In this instance, it is not necessarily a romantic pairing — bonds between Barry and his father figures are included, as is Iris with her dad. Voting will continue for a few days and then we’ll post the results!

Note: If there is a pairing that you feel is missing, write it in and we’ll include your vote and/or add it as a choice. Thanks!
